To us this is just as interesting as how something is made, and often a product is just as difficult to wrap as it is to make. The Process: There is a lot happening in a small footprint. Factory floor space is one of their greatest assets. Step One: Index the trays into the flight spaces of the wrapper. Step Two: Fold the upper flaps of the trays closed with split second timing and hold them down. Step Three: Convey the trays into the film former. Step Four: Individually wrap the trays. Step Five: Shrink the packs in the Vortex tunnel.
Speeds: These customer orders are big and the holiday season is short. This delivery window requires that the wrapping gets done fast and efficient. These packages move through this process at a speed of one per second!
Appearance: Consumers don’t buy food products that aren’t appealing to the eye. The shrink wrapping process must produce good looking packages. Part of this magic is the lap seal package. Using a forming plow and minimal film allows Conflex to create the best looking packages possible.
