The RL Series of lap seal shrink wrappers manufactured by Conflex offer high speed shrink wrapping with the minimum film usage compared to other style wrappers. Shrink wrapping the lumber boards gives them a very attractive glossy appearance and added protection for the consumer.

The Product: These high-end wood boards benefit from the shrink wrap process because it gives the quality product an attractive protective layer until the consumer uses it. The range of widths and lengths is huge!
Speeds: These boards move through the packaging process at 125 feet per minute. Getting the correct product spacing on the product moving at these speeds is achieved using a 2-zone servo infeed.
Flexibility: The “RL” in RL 280 stands for “random length”. The Conflex’ motto is “Flexible People Make Flexible Systems”. As you can see in the video, we design our equipment to handle a variety of board widths and lengths. We design with this flexibility so you can wrap large product and still run small product on the same machine. The goal is that our machines become the perfect complement for your products and processes.
The Solution(s):
This particular video shows our RL 280 continuous motion high speed lap sealer and Vortex 144 dual chamber Shrink Tunnel. This system has the ability to handle very small to very large board size range at very high speeds. The changeover process is fully repeatable through our recipe based HMI.
